Long Weekend

First let me say Thank You to all the servicemen and women past and present!  I love my Freedom.
I also love 3 day weekends ...sorta..they are long, but man I can't wait to get back to work to catch a break..sorry mom!
We cram so much into 3 little days it would make your head spin!  Saturday I went to visit my loved one, close to 400 miles round trip.  Then that night we took the woods truck out, man I love the woods and mud, it's good for my soul!  Sunday Bryce had a double header, won one, and lost one, but he was happy he saw his old coach from Kissimmee, he really misses her and that team!  And Monday back to N. Fl for another visit!!  I'm whooped!
It's almost Thanksgiving, and I am excited, this is the first year in many that I've actually looked forward to the holidays!!  So excited in fact that we are going to start hanging the Christmas lights tonight, yep, no waiting for the last minute for us this year, we are gettin on it!! I can't wait, I want to go all out, can't wait to put together our santa sleigh and reindeer, I've missed seeing that in my front yard!!!

Summer is Over

When I was a little girl, my mother always told me time flies, I never believed her.  For that I am sorry Mom, you were right!!  I cannot believe that my children started back to school yesterday.  My youngest started her first day of her last year of elementary school, and my middle started his first year of middle school.  I wasn't too worried about my daughter she is so much like me, independent to a fault, strong willed, and outspoken, she did great!! My middle one was the one I worried about, he is and always has been like the little ant in the song, you know the one who stopped to tie his shoe and everything else! I just knew he was going to get lost at school, end up in the wrong room, but he surprised me, he found all his classes and wasn't late!!
We are chugging right along with life, dealing with everything it seems to be throwing at us (thank goodness we know how to catch)!
Yes I do get sad and a bad case of the 'why me's', but then usually get over it quickly, and keep on truckin'!!

~M I A~

It's been a little while since I've posted anything and for that I apologize, I know, I know, my life is so interesting that you've been on the edge of your seat waiting on me!! :::grin:::
Things have been happening around here, some good, some interesting...I refuse to say bad. The good things first, my son has been selected to represent the Merritt Island Little League Allstars. The team is amazing, they won districts with a clean sweep and run ruled every team they played in 4 innings, next is sectionals the weekend of July 21st!
My daughter is playing awesome on the softball field, The Stealers, her travel team have their first tournament together the first weekend of August, can't wait to see those awesome girls play!
And finally, the interesting..I am recently single, my husband and I have separated and have decided we don't make a good team and the time has come to go our separate ways!
I will leave you with those tasty morsels to chew on....

Memorial Weekend Memories

We survived the hectic Memorial Day Weekend!  What a blast it was, we snuck out of work and school and started our fun a day early!  We beat the crowds and headed to Ft. White/ High Springs area to float the river, we managed, had some good laughs and of course had to endure the brotherly/sisterly love they showed each other::eye roll::, Holly went with us, bless her heart, she sure is a trooper!!

The Start of our River Journey!!

We even had to skip out on Saturday afternoon and head back to Longwood for a baseball tournament, then home that night since it was so late, and back to Otter Springs to batten down the hatches on the camper in prep for Beryl, the 2nd named storm before Hurricane season officially opens!! And, guess what?? while we were at the camper a huge oak branch fell and hit the front of the camper, thankfully we were all inside, I thought someone crashed into the camper..it was just the tree..it barely missed the tent campers who were packing up in front of us!! Talk about quite a scare! The camper didn't suffer much damage, a bump and a scrape!  Here are just a couple of the pics, I did buy a waterproof camera for our journey down the river, once I get those pics, I will post them too!!  Enjoy!!

Summer's a Comin' !!

Wow weeee, Summer is almost here, can you believe it??  I can't, seems like yesterday that my kiddos were just babies, now my oldest is grown, my middle has officially graduated 6th grade and heading to middle school, and my baby with be a big bad 6th grader..Holy Cow!!  Tomorrow is officially the last day of the school year, but mine are done today and we are sneaking out early..heading to the campground!!
Can't wait for some much needed peace and quiet, hope to be floating down the Itchneetucknee (sp) Springs River this time tomorrow, I think we may do the long run 3.5 hours..sounds like heaven doesn't it??
Then Saturday we have a baseball tournament to get to in the afternoon, and again Sunday, then a nice relaxing Memorial day on Monday!!  Sure sounds like a lot of running and doing things, but I guess that is the norm for us..I don't know how I would act if I had a whole long weekend to do nothing...probably would get cabin fever!!  Stay tuned for pics of our weekend....

M.I.A.

Holy smoke has it really been almost a month since I've posted??? Where the heck does time go? I wish I could bottle it and have some on reserve!
We have been neck deep in sports at our camp..Bryce with baseball for league and now his travel team is cranking back up, and little league all stars will be announced the middle of next month !! Brooke tried out and made a travel fast pitch softball team. Yes I must be crazy! School is out at the end of this month and both kids are wanting to learn to surf this summer. Why not?? We do live just minutes from the small wave capital Cocoa Beach, Fl.
We are leaving after school tomorrow and heading to the camper that we have parked at Otter Springs in N Fl If anything exciting happens I will blog about it. I hope to relax and maybe get in some time on the quilt I am making..wish me luck on both!
Ps. I apologize for any grammar and typos, I'm posting from my phone while sitting at.... You guessed it the ball field!!!!!

We have puppies, most have been rehomed, we have kittens with only one tough survivor out of the 3 she had..that was a sad experience for the kids, and now we have baby chicks..barred rocks to be exact!!  I am so excited about the chicks, I can't wait to have fresh eggs once again.  I love going out and getting fresh eggs, nothing better!

Spring Break at the Springs!!

Otter Springs to be exact!  This is a spring about 3.5 hrs from our home, in the woods near the banks of the Suwanee River.  I love this place and feel so lucky to have found it, lots of woods, peace and quiet (until Fri and Sat pm), other campers and a nice clean pool to boot!
There are so many springs to chose from in this area that I know we can't visit them all, but we can sure try!  The kids and I went up Wednesday, got settled into the camper, went shopping for food, tubes, masks and snorkels...then spent the next 2 days in the water. Friday night we had a big surprise the hubby/daddy joined us and spent the next day in the cold water with us!!  It was a much needed break from school and work..but now things are back to normal.  Can't wait for summer May 25th is the last day of school for my kids, and it can't get here quick enough!!
This is my beautiful baby soaking up the sun!!

My youngest ones loving it!

Yup, even I enjoyed the nice crisp 72 degree water!

What have I done?

Omg, what have I done? This was my first thought when I saw the pool. You see I thought I would make my family so happy with a nice new above ground pool. So I purchased a pretty nice one, 18' x 52" deep, a good sized pool for us good sized folks. However I forgot one huge detail.....we don't have city water, our water comes from a nice irony well, yes that means lovely orange water instead of crystal clear water. So here we are a week and a half into this and maybe, just maybe we are getting somewhere. I will keep posting about our pretty pool, but for now I will leave you with a nice visual!

Country Kids

Saturday was opening day for little league baseball in our area, this is my son's last year in little league.  Next year he moves up to jrs. woweee, does time fly, seems like yesterday he was just a t-baller.  The Rangers (his team this year) played their first game of the season, and won.  He came in to close and threw 5 pitches, and ended up striking 2 out ( he came on the mound in the middle of a batter), he was pretty awesome if I do say so myself.  I'm not a big fan of my kid pitching even tho' he loves it, I prefer him at first base..but he is the ballplayer, I'm just the mom!! Next game is Monday night..Good Luck Rangers!

Sunday was a busy but nice day, got a lot done around the house, squeezed in some shopping for the kids ( I am not a fan of clothes shopping either..LOL), some food shopping, laundry complete with hanging my clothes in the sunshine and nice breeze ( I love hanging my clothes out to dry), and ended it with grilling some oysters and frying some shrimp for some po'boy sandwiches!  Nothing better than spending my days with my family!!  I love you all, and soon we will all be together and complete again!!  We are one day closer!

Back to the Country

In August 2011, we bought the most perfect house out in the boonies.  We have a little chunk of land that is lined by a canal that can take us straight out to the St. Johns River via airboat (now to just get at least 1 of the boats running).  We have more than enough room for our garden, the chicken coop, and our many animals!! Did I mention the most perfect gorgeous home, never in a million years did I see us in this place..thank you so much mom & dad for all of your help, YOU ROCK!
