Northbound & Down

So we left home yesterday around 2pm, and unintentionally followed, and sometimes led Hurricane Hermine to Savannah, Ga. 

We arrived safe and sound and the CHS varsity volleyball team pulled in about an hour later. Got settled in their rooms and out to dinner we went. 

This morning they played in a tournament   against 4 other teams and they rocked. They won 8 straight games!! 

Gonna get some rest and visit downtown Savannah tonight. Tomorrow they are touring a college then heading home. 

We are going to stay an extra night and play tourist and marking one spot off my bucket list. Tybee Island!!!!

Barrel Races & Baseball

We live a pretty fun life, albeit extremely busy.  We do spend a lot of our time on the road whether we are traveling to a one day barrel race, a multi day super show, baseball practice or week long tournament.  Although some think we miss out on a lot, I beg to differ, we get to see new places, make new friends, and always have a lot of laughs!!
Last month we had our Florida State NBHA show, was so much fun and a great show, my daughter and her horse made it back to the finals on Sunday which was really exciting for her first year showing there! Lots of memories, luckily for us, this is rather close to home so we haul back n forth to it instead of having to stay over. 
Then the end of June, beginning of July we were in Tennessee for the Music City Baseball tournament, tons of fun, playing at different colleges/universities.  Even took some time and went cliff jumping at Percy Priest Lake, what an amazing thing to be able to do.  The Evoshield Fl Army team represented pretty well, won 3 games and only lost 2, the fellas gave it a great shot.
Back home and back to work, some local jackpots on the weekends, and baseball is firing back up after a week off..
I would say we have a pretty fun life!
Wouldn't change it for the world.

A week

7 days, one week, then school is out for the summa!!!  This momma is happy!! 
This means big barrel races, baseball tournaments, travel, and my 9th grader starts college!! YEP, she takes her first college course starting the end of June, how cool is that???
I know my kids are mid teens now and think they are grown, but we do really still enjoy each other and I always try to do stuff over the summer that they will remember! 
Let the count down begin...7 days!!!!!

Pack your bags

We are going on a guilt trip!! 

I am mid 40's and unfortunately work for my parents. My mother is the damn travel agent of guilt trips. To this day I don't know why I let her get to me the way she does. In her eyes I'm lucky to know how to tie my own damn shoes. Holy shit how did I get to be this age and raise 3 kids on my own. God forbid I don't do something the way she thinks or demands it be done. For fucks sake. Take a damn chill pill!!  

I wonder if she can book me a one way out west??

Say it ain't so

Spring break has come and gone, and summer is almost here! 8 weeks of school left, that's 40 days folks!!  Where is the heck does the time go? Wasn't it just Christmas? Weren't they just in elementary school? Hell feels like they were just born, and I can remember high school like it was yesterday.
I really really try to stay on top of this bloggin' business, but geesh, everything happens too fast.  I even tried to journal at home to help with my memories for the kids and their kids down the line, I was doing good on that on a weekly basis about a month ago...guess I'd better catch that up to!
So here goes, the short version...
Highschool baseball is in full swing, club volleyball is winding down we are in the last month I think our last tournament is this coming weekend at Disney Wide World of Sports (not the happiest place for a central Florida resident), Barrel racing is a blast and we are having the time of our lives, my daughter is doing awesome chasing those cans!! and Summer travel baseball will be here before I know it!
The NBHA State barrel race is in June, as well as a baseball tournament in Nashville! I guess I get a little vacay!!!
So that's what's happening in our little corner of the world!

Life gets in the way

Man, seems like yesterday that I posted on here, but in reality it's been months. I'm sitting in the orthodontist office right now as I make this realization....life seems to get in the way!! Everything happens so fast, my kids have grown into teens, and one adult...how does this happen I still think I'm only in my 20s! Well, the 2nd time around 20s!!   It seems like it was a couple weeks ago my kid was just getting her braces on, and here we sit a little over 2 yrs, and she's getting them off!  Life sure does go by quicker than you think, I never believed it as a kid.  I'm sure to her it has been the longest 2 years of her life!
