Marching by...

Surgery again, 4th time since May 2013.  Hopefully we are getting somewhere, will know in another week.  Been basically bedridden since the end of Feb.  Finally feeling almost human again, and now my mind is in overdrive.  So many projects I want to do around here..little bit of redecorating, scrap booking, recipe testing, and I could keep going.  I'm so tired of looking at these bedroom walls...ohhh I need a big picture on that wall, ohhh empty frames I have some pics for those , gotta find them.  You get the idea.  And daytime tv, yuck...not interested!  I have however enjoyed all the reading I've done!  No pictures this post, my ceiling just isn't that interesting.

My blog was looking rather meh, so I switched it up.  Bright cheery red, just in time for National Singles Awareness Day, known to some as Valentines day.  Do ya like it? I think it's pretty, and crisp looking with the white words.  Does anyone else change theirs with holidays, or just as the mood strikes you? 
Oh yeah, since that day is rapidly approaching, if anyone is secretly in like with me, go ahead and send flowers, doesn't even have to be roses, pretty flowers will make me happy!

Can It!

I have been collecting canning supplies for about 2 years now, maybe longer but who's counting?  I really, really want to learn, but haven't taken the plunge yet.  So, yesterday I bought a beginner canning book, yes another one.  It also covers freezing and drying.  I think I will start with blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries.  Those will be coming in soon here.  Any thoughts? I'm scared to do this, I really don't want to poison my family or anything of the sort.  I do like my kids and would like to keep them around!  Someone has to take care of me when I'm older!

Hello 2014

Happy New Year!  Wow looking back 2013 was an eventful, busy, and quickly passing year.  It was much better than 11, or 12 for my family.  So with that being said, it only stands to reason that 2014 will be even better! 
I've made a few resolutions, hoping to be able to keep them longer than a few days.  Change is good right???? I am trying a couple new things, I'm trying Project Life in the weekly format, I know that can be stressful trying to keep up, but I'm gonna give it a shot. Also just read something this morning that has spoken volumes to me.  The grateful/thankful project, which kindof goes right along with PL.  You take a picture a day of something you are grateful or thankful for, then write a lil blurb about it and put in an album or scrapbook.  I love this idea, how great would it be when you are feeling a lil down, sad, etc. to look back thru your book and reflect, that has to do the heart good!
Well, I'm off to get my office organized since today is our first day back to work since Christmas Eve, and to get all my goodies organized for my new projects!

On the road again

We are on our annual trek to the Smokey mountains. We left Christmas day and headed to our cabin in Nc.  Spent Thursday driving to new areas. Friday we went to Gatlinburg, Tn, did some shopping, people watching, and ate at one of our fav places....Dicks last resort. You have to be a special kind of person to enjoy that place....it's right up our alley!  More adventures to follow!

Getting Scrappy

I am in heaven over here, loving project life!  I've got my album for my weekly 2014 memories.  Since I've been chomping at the bit to get started, I've appeased myself by making a holiday album! I love how easy it is, it's a no brainer for me.  But then I can get really creative and do some cool stuff too.  I haven't completed the album yet, obviously since we have the macdaddy of holidays barreling down on us.  I love that I can get it organized how I want then go back and embellish it with cool stuff. Tomorrow I'm reorganizing my craft room. While in there I'm gonna dig out my old scrapbooking stuff and see what all can work with this.  Can't wait to go back and do the kids baby books etc!!  Here are a couple pages from thanksgiving.  I've also started on my first page for next year!!
